CHARACTER: Laurie Inoue (he/him)
ABOUT: Preservationist, Time Orphan from the 1930s, still predominately dresses like he's in that time, still sometimes surprised at modern inventions, still not fully tech savvy (he didn't mean to send that email all in caps, he just hit the caps lock on his phone and couldn't work out how to unhit it, why are there so many keyboard pages on phones?). Very dedicated to keeping history Right, not very flexible with rules. Intern class of 2022, so has been here ~4ish years.

i love this concept so much.

benny could be a duolingo buddy, it's the one app he actually lkes. he's also kind of a boomer with tech so they can bond over that.

jazz could be a study buddy/history nerd. max i think we established in his cohort and will be his friend and talk his ear off whether laurie likes it or not :D (i'm so sorry)

Cash Whitaker

ABOUT: US EST. I’m in a new role at work so not sure what my availability will be outside of answering DMs during the work day, and I’m normally asleep by 10pm EST so normally anything after then will be left on read.

CHARACTER: Cash Whitaker, he/him
ABOUT: Cash survived the Oregon Trail so in theory he should be able to survive the 21st century. He arrived 12 years ago and worked at the bar to save up for a ticket out west to see what the big deal was about the Pacific Ocean and pretty much decided that his feet belonged on the ground and mountains were better than the beach. He’s been a wrangler for 8 years, doesn’t bullshit has an appetite bigger than Texas, and generally bangs equipment when it doesn’t work correctly rather than turning it on and off. I’m tired so go read his app because it’s much funnier than I am right now.
STORYLINES:

Fellow dog owners! In addition to having a new partner, Cash has a new golden retriever puppy named Rattler. Socialization of the little potato will be vital.

Cash still hosts a bi-monthly poker game. Legend has it someone lost so much money they had to sell feet pics. Come join in.

I’d love to make connections with people who have been here a while — either when he was first orphaned or beginning to wrangle.

He’s open to past and present mentorships.

ABOUT: EST and probably discord. I try to check it a few times a day. Usually available after 4pm. Most of you know I have a 9 year old and it's about that time for end of school crazies, soooo we'll see how the next few weeks go.

CHARACTER: Nellie Dawson, Preservationist.
ABOUT: Nellie's a time orphan that was rescued from the sinking of the Titanic. She got involved with Jack Dawson a time bandit who was trying his darnedest to save the fate of the ship, failed anyway and was subsequently handled in front of her, how fun! Knowing far too much and having a very strong will to live, coming to the future was the obvious choice. She was 'orphaned' like 6/7 years ago, assimilated and went back to school, and has been with TEA for 4 years.

Nellie's got a case of :| face, a tendency to be blunt, and even after years of being here, misses her family. She likes to cook, is content to be dragged out with maximum protest because she knows its good for her mental health, and has barely concealed wanderlust.

STORYLINES:

• She's part of Cris's girl gang, though she still doesn't know how that happened, so if your character has befriended Cris, they at least know Nellie. She's happy to be there, I swear, her face is just....frozen like that.
  
• People she's foisted leftovers on before she ended up in her current living situation.
  
• Former mentor or an intern she takes a liking to.
  
• A travel buddy to go see new places and museums in near silence (it's golden).
  
• Idk, anything else, it's late in ye olde EST and I'm tired.

Time Wrangler. Former Time Bandit, but unless you're Theo, you don't know that, so don't worry about it. Marisol's got that tragic backstory shit, lost her fam, tried to reclaim them via time travel manipulation, failed, went from firefighter -> time bandit -> time wrangler. She's reckless & rash & kind of a recovering adrenaline junkie bc she has a kid, so she's trying to be more responsible. (Sometimes it's hard to tell that she's trying when she's out on missions, but... she is!)

STORYLINES:

• an ex or a hook up, past/present/whatevs
• just the normal shit really

CHARACTER: Vic Aguilar, she/her
ABOUT: Vic is a trademark Rachael Blonde^TM but very much not blonde and has lots of Big Dick Tit Energy. Yes, she’s named after Victoria Beckham and yes, she’s heard it all before. She’s a first year innovator and younger sister to Sherri’s Cris, and while Cris has a nice, gooey center, Vic is powered by female rage and almond milk lattes. She had her mind set on being a fighter pilot but then was diagnosed with vertigo, so she did a hard pivot into mechanical engineering and has heart eyes for anything she can make faster. She takes ‘no’ as a personal vendetta and can be a little bossy, but the effect is tempered a little by the blankets she has stashed under her workstation because ya girl hates to be cold.
STORYLINES:

Morning gym people, don’t steal her squat rack and she’ll give you a spot.

She’s housemates with Teddy, so I’m sure the time orphans have all come across her one way or another as Teddy collects them.

Anyone need conflict? Vic’s your girl. She’s Queen of Fuck Around and Find Outlandia, so it can lean towards either end of the spectrum.

Cohort mates are her ride or dies, so. Buckle up, baby.

And Tess is like a coworker in the same dept and probably has gotten on Vic's nerves before because she DOES abandon tasks sometimes and leaves some paperwork a mess on her desk or whatever.

ABOUT: Intern (Preservationist). He's also a half-nepo baby in that his dad is in the Department of Past and previous Preservationist. Stevie's cousin. He's a Lil anxious stoner/loser who is know to ramble about historical subjects he is interested in. A little pathetic tbh. You can bully him idc.
STORYLINES: He probably won't have too many to start, but:

- Preservationists who have been around for a long time (maybe more than 5 years but I'm flexible) may know his dad
- If anyone's been around FOREVER (more than 15 years) they may have seen him around base as a bb
- I know it's weird to volunteer a character as a crush but I would love to give him someone to totally clam up around so if you're cool with this lmk and I'll draw a name out of a hat probably
- Anything else you can think of, I'm easy!

Jazz (historiographic) will like have the most interaction with him as a fellow Intern and semi-stoner who is also very anxious, but she masks it by being :| and really deadpan. She's also on the Preservationist track though and they can be little nerd bullies.

Max (this journal) is an innovator and all around nerd, including a big Star Wars fan! He will be like, aggressively friendly. I can't think of anything for Benny (undercard) but he will be friendly in a gruff way I'm sure.

he is free to have crushes on any of them but jazz is gay, max is kind of a loser, and benny is an Old so ymmv.

ABOUT: Innovator. Been here about 4 years. Previous life was a semi-famous tech star. Previously also married to Tess. Charming, friendly, personable. He's competent in his work but more interested in the accolades that come with it.
STORYLINES: I'm also down for whatever, but some ideas:

- Drinking pub or club buddies
- Your bad date (did he forget? arrive two hours late? get someone else's number while on the date? all possible, especially just after his divorce)
- Your work nemesis (did he take the last cup of coffee that you already claimed? does he steal your favourite pen? Do you fight over the 3D printer?)

This makes him sound like a jerk I promise he's nice sometimes 😅

CHARACTER: Raj Sahani, he/him
ABOUT: Preservationist. He loves it. Do you guys all realize how lucky we are to work here? And do this incredible stuff every day?? (Will his enthusiasm annoy you? Time will tell!) He's been here 14 years since he started his internship at 25, after being recruited in grad school. He's been a steady employee the whole time, though a few months ago he had a bad mission that resulted in an extended vacation in various healing pods. He's FINE though and ready to get back to work!!!
STORYLINES: He's been around a while and he's extroverted enough that he's definitely met and tried to get to know you. He tries not to badger Time Orphans too much with questions but it's HARD. I do not have any connections planned for him at this time so I am open!

you'd be excused for thinking rhodri is a weirdly-adjusted time orphan; he's not, but sometimes he's very ?? about modern culture, as he was raised in relative isolation by his prepper/survivalist parents in the wilds~ of wales. loves the gym, the great outdoors, confounded but intrigued by labubus, will probably bring you trinkets if he likes you. he can sometimes say things that are off the cuff, so he's probably marmite to you: you like him, or you don't. he's partnered with cash, god help him.

STORYLINES: he needs FRIENDS, people who think he's WEIRD, fellow gym rats, just bring me anything!
