he is actually so right to be suspicious of her... she isn't actually doing anything but how can anyone be SURE? she needs a former mentor if you want her to be his official problem but i do also think it'd be funny if he was just on her ass all the time for no reason

him being her official former mentor works for me because then it gives him a reason to have known about her past activities and feel like TEA has made it His Responsibility to make sure she is Doing The Right Thing
