CHARACTER: Percy Montgomery, he/him
ABOUT: A former naval officer from the late 1800s who was shipwrecked and stranded in the artic, survived the winter, thought he was going home, only to ~see too much~ and be taken to 2015 (fun fact, this is based on a real shipwreck except they all lived after and I am now obsessed with this story). once he (kind of) got over culture shock and trauma and was less of a feral mess, he joined the wranglers, and he's been partnered with charlie for the last 4 years. in general, he's on the quieter side because he's not great at people-ing and doesn't love being Known, but don't let the lack of a smile fool you, he is quite soft (unfortunately). he's not always nice but he's kind; big into acts of service but please don't call too much attention to it, thank you. Super curious (and borderline nosy, tbh), easily bored, generally pretty game to try new things even while being utterly bewildered by present day nonsense, but would rather face the polar bears again than suffer through a party filled with small talk.

STORYLINES:

lives with Einar, was previously engaged to Briony before he "died", and shares a daughter with Veronica so can be connected to people through them~

fellow time orphans! he will not pretend to be too cool for a support group

nerds he can bother. he will buy you a drink and listen attentively while you ramble on about your niche academic pursuit, thank you

if someone else wants to go disconnect and hide in the woods for a week, he would not say no to being antisocial together

someone please just troll him and teach him incorrect slang / pop culture / whatever. I just think that'd be funny

Cash is also a fellow 19th century orphan who had winter derail his life, even if he’s from a different era/region. He came through 12 years ago and allows Teddy to drag him to the parties. I can offer drinking partners?

Mallory is roomies/besties with Briony so she considers him Briony's first fiance (she assumes there'll be a second one day) but will also be friendly

Laurie is a fellow time orphan, they will know each other from being collected in time orphan groups I am sure, and Laurie would like him

honestly he's not mad about being known as the first fiance (and he also assumes there will one day be a third!). he's still very fond of her so would def try to know her roomie / bestie~ he might get a little overwhelmed sometimes but I think he'd like her!

em is a fellow time orphan, born 1875... but in montana and had never really been at sea 😅 i think em will be hosting a PEOPLE WHO LIKE TO BE SILENT IN NATURE retreat, open to anyone who makes the cut (ability to be silent in nature, like no small talk as they pensively go fishing or w/e).

bella is einar's sister so there's a connect there.

undercard) who is a wrangler and fellow time oprhan! he's from the 30s though. i think they both arrived around the same time per our discussion in chat so they have been subjected to the horrors of the future/energy drinks together and can be friendly/bros if you want! definitely drinking buddies.

artilugio) who is a innovator and nerd and will happily talk percy's ear off about everything. he also thinks he's "super good friends" with einar so i'm sure he pops up at their place to chat :) :) :)

Don't mind me super late fjfjf but yes! I think rescued / started at a similar time so would love for them to be friends / traumatized by energy drinks together lol

Max is so cute lol and sorry to einar, unless percy is told otherwise, he will believe they are in fact super good friends and let max in whenever. Einar can just get max to start talking at percy, who will happily listen, if he needs to make an escape 😂

Jack got so many questions when Percy first arrived tbh because he def wanted to talk to another time orphan about wtf was going on. But def friends! And be protective of bri together 🥲

i think this is one we can figure out depending on how they get along in the game! seb and percy are both quiet and seb isn't likely to spill about any of his interests, so i'm like BIG SHRUG LET'S SEE
