Some things never change. Boarding school to Oxford to the army is a tale as old as time.

Did you enjoy it?

It's a little depressing knowing nothing changes sometimes.

I did. For a while. Then less so.

I think if we were to look at the history of the world, about as much is always changing as is staying the same. It can be reassuring or depressing, depending on the day.

Did anything happen or was it just the passing of time?

Constants can be comforting, sometimes. I suppose.

I started to wonder if I actually knew what enjoyment was.

Spending time with my best friends. Painting, drawing. I like mornings.

It's just as I thought: you do what enjoyment is.

Have you ever watched the sun come up and painted it? It feels like you're the only person on earth, but in the sort of way that feels peaceful rather than terrifying.

I used to do that at university. There was a way onto the roof, and I’d go on my morning run early and in the dark so I could catch it.
