outside of max, i also have benny (undercard) who is a gruff but warm wrangler who will be friendly enough even in the face of any prickliness. and then i have jazz (this journal) who is an intern and preservationist! she is also very prickly and :| so they will either get on or maybe rub each other the wrong way!

seb finds "gruff but warm" fascinating but less on an anthropological level and more on an ethological one, where he's never understood how to break past gruff into anything else so surely benny's an entirely different species. i can't wait to find out what on earth jazz and seb are like :3
